What is a Birth Center?

The Birthing Center of Buffalo, affiliated with Buffalo Women Services, offers the opportunity for a woman-centered birth, free of unnecessary distractions and interventions. They are the only facility in the Buffalo area that offers water birth. They have a Cesarean Section rate of only 10%, a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean Section rate of 90%, and a seamless care model – Dr. Morrison will continue to care for you in the hospital if a transfer is required. The Birthing Center of Buffalo is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and accredited by the Commission for the  Accreditation of  Birth Centers. 

If you’re healthy with a low-risk pregnancy and want to minimize unnecessary interventions during labor and birth, a Birth Center might be a good option for you. As a free-standing Birth Center, The Birthing Center of Buffalo offers comprehensive maternity and obstetric care, and an empowering, unmedicated birth experience.
